About Me

I am currently backpacking my way round New Zealand, I have spent 6 months Au Pairing in New Zealand and now looking forward to exploring the country.

I am up for trying anything at least once, I love experiencing new things, specially if it is food related. I believe that staying with locals is far more enriching experience when traveling rather than staying is hostels or hotels and some of my most memorable experiences while traveling have been with the people I have stayed with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing was recommended to me by friends that have had amazing experiences. I would like make friends, find travel buddies, experience different cultures rather than just observing them as a tourist.

Interests

I have been running ParkRuns for 2 years I'm not fast (avg. 5km 35min) but I want to run as many ParkRuns around Australia as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to music live especially at festivals I have been to Glastonbury Festival a couple on times and Reading Festival... I think 4 years in a row.

I love watching movies my top 3 are Casablanca, Some Like it Hot and Lion King which is at the top of a long list. I have an article from The Empire on 500 movies to watch before you die, which I am trying to make my way through. The only genre I don't like is Horror but if it is on the list I will watch it but with all the lights on.

I am a big fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld Novels which a more like comfort reading. Otherwise I am making my way through the classics and whatever strange and wonderful books I can pick up at a book swap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered at the Olympics in London &Rio and will be volunteering a the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018. Volunteering at the Olympics has been some of the most amazing experiences of my life. I meet people from all over the world and we worked together to deliver the Games.

Teach, Learn, Share

At home in the U.K. I worked for the charity Step by Step (www.stepbystep.org.uk) supporting young homeless people. I am still passionate about the amazing work they do and I am interested in learning best practice and innovative ways of supporting others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't claim to be a great cook but I can make some good English Grub along with some stories about the places I have visited and my adventures along the way.
