About Me
Hello! I'm Stacey. I'm 31, born and raised in New Zealand. I love to cook, garden, anything beauty related, spa and shopping day trips. I really enjoy going to the gym, hiking and photography, too. I'm a qualified hairdresser and makeup artist, and am currently studying a few courses to upskill myself for my business. Self employed, I work with a lot of weddings and events. Love getting to know people, personal growth, mindfulness and helping guide people by sharing my knowledge, too.
Lived an interesting life, and have been through some interesting rollercoasters over the last few years. Worked in IT sales and account management for 10 years, before deciding to follow my passion in the beauty industry.
Have a small group of friends that I'm close with, but love to help others and spread kindness. I definitely like to serve others and do things for people to help take a weight off their shoulders. I have two cats and a dog back home. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm doing some travel around the EU, my partner has recently moved over so I've joined Couchsurfing in the hopes of potentially finding a couch to crash on, in the event that I don't get to see him for as long as intended. It's my first time traveling abroad for a long time and on my own so I hope to meet some interesting people and make some connections along the way, who can help guide me on my travels. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to most types of music, the only ones I don't really like are electronica, house or extreme hardstyle. I enjoy pop, r&b, acoustic covers, classical, jazz, blues, remixes/mashups of popular songs, rock.
Movies, I'm a sucker for a good rom-com, love some action movies or scary movies, too, though. I enjoy true crime documentaries a lot as well.
Books, I love fantasy books, cooking books, romance. Beverly Barton and Rhyannon Bryd are two of my favourite authors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had gastric sleeve surgery back in 2019, right before covid, in Thailand. I've lost 53kgs now and have had some extra surgery to remove excess skin, I work hard in the gym and have enjoyed my journey with this.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn from others live experiences and share mine, as well. I treat people the way I want to be treated and show gratitude and kindness wherever I go.
Something to share, that I have learnt:
Eating and drinking at the same time will make your stomach expand and is what tells your brain you're still hungry, resulting in you eating more. Try to avoid drinking anything 30-60 minutes before and after you eat to aid in feeling fuller for longer. :)
Spend time learning about yourself and figuring out where emotions, feelings, fears come from. The more we can understand ourselves, the easier it becomes for us to communicate to others, what we need, to feel more secure in our relationships in life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love getting to know people and their stories. I'm flexible with what you'd like to do, I can keep to myself and out of your way if you have things to do, or I'd be happy to do something together and perhaps we can explore the area. I have plenty of life experience that I can share and maybe we can learn something from each other. :)
