Overview
About Me
I'm a doctoral student studying French linguistics at Purdue University in the U.S. Maybe that sounds boring, but I find it rather fascinating. Believe me, I wouldn't have been in school this long if I didn't somewhat enjoy it. ;-) I'm currently teaching English at Université Stendhal in Grenoble, France. So, yes, I can speak French though before coffee is probably not the best time to judge my French skills or English skills for that matter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm supposed to be in Europe for the next eight months or so teaching. I don't want to miss out on seeing more of Europe than just my fifty mile radius here much as I love the Alps. As a grad student, I obviously don't earn much and most of what I earn is put towards rent and food. Thus, couchsurfing, I hope, will help me save some money while still being able to travel. I'm also hoping to meet some new people and maybe even make some new friends.
Interests
I enjoy drinking coffee, getting lost in a book, getting into book discussions, studying history, writing, and will talk nonstop about anything linguistics related. I love traveling and discovering new places and different cultures.
I come from a big family, so I'm used to sleeping on couches and pallets when company comes or when we all get together.
