Please read! Because we live in Hollywood, we get at LEAST 10 requests per day, usually more. On top of that, we only host 2-3 times per month due to our schedules. This means that our place gets booked very quickly. If you are a couch surfer looking for a place to stay in the same month you write the request (ex: writing us in September that you are looking to stay with us in September) I can promise you we are already booked. If you would like to stay with us, please contact us at least one month in advance.

Hi! My name is Stacey Major and I am a high school art teacher living in Hollywood with my husband Tom, our corgi Lucy, and our bearded dragon Giles. My husband is a screenwriter for a television network. In addition to working full time as a teacher, I also paint custom canvas shoes. We're both very social and outgoing and love going on adventures. We're also giant nerds, and spend a lot of time at Disneyland and Universal Studios. We moved out to California from Pittsburgh five years ago and absolutely love it here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was on CouchSurfing a few years ago when I was living in Ireland and traveling in Europe, then fell off when I moved back to the states and was starting a new life in California. I had great experiences surfing in England, France, and Canada, and had wonderful hosts! I always said I would host surfers when I lived somewhere cool enough, so now that I live in Hollywood I'm ready to start up again!

*We are a smoke and drug free home, but alcohol is fine, and wine is always encouraged :-)

Interests

I am a HUGE Disney nerd, and spend a lot of time at Disneyland. I love painting and drawing, and most of my evenings are spent painting shoes.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band of all time is Hanson. Laugh all you want, but do your research first! I have seen them in concert at least twelve times (I've lost count). I also love The Beatles, The Arctic Monkeys, Ingrid Michaelson, and Jukebox the Ghost. My favorite movie is Love Actually, followed closely by About Time, Midnight in Paris, and The Little Mermaid. My favorite book is The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I'm also a big Harry Potter nerd.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had a lot of great adventures in my life so far, but the biggest has been student teaching in Ireland. I lived in County Kerry for a semester in a very small town where I didn't know a soul and there were no other Americans. I had an amazing time and met wonderful friends. Last summer I was lucky enough to bring my husband back with me to explore the country and catch up with my friends and coworkers. Next up: getting one of them to fly out to visit me in the states!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tom and I both love to cook, draw, and hang out with good conversation and a bottle of wine. We can bring the wine and food and give you a wonderful evening :-)
