Overview
About Me
I grew up between in the suburbs of Dublin but spent my Christmas,Easter and Summer holidays with my family in the country and on the coast of Donegal.
I am the youngest of 3 and my two older sisters were my mentors and close friends. They now joke that I'm the rolling stone of the family and a rolling stone catches no moss.
My friends would describe me as being bad with directions, good in a crisis, terrible with celebrity gossip (they're old friends, it's too late to get rid of them), great at dancing ( this May or may not be true)
I ask a lot questions. I can never know enough about anything. I love learning about what schools don't teach you.
I wanna make this beautiful and corrupt world a better place but have no idea how. My plan now is to just keep meeting new people from all over the world and learning as much as I can about different ways of living in it.
I am trying to live a vegan lifestyle for moral, health and environmental reasons.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To hang out with locals and/other travellers
To discuss your culture, history and experiences
To make new friends
To debate conspiracy theories
To ponder what aliens eat for breakfast
To have healthy and intelligent discussions and real topics with people from all walks of life
To make new and interesting memories
To experience the surroundings through the eyes of a local and to not be just a tourist
To have fun and try new things that otherwise would be rare for me to come accross
Interests
Hiking : after a long hard climb, nothing beats the reward of fresh, clean air an speculation views. Living in the Black Forest for a year really solidified my love for nature, forests and hiking.
Health, food & cooking: I get a kick out of making things from scratch and nosing EXACTLY what I'm eating. I've really started taking it further and make my own pesos, curry pastes, sauces, cookies, brownies and bread mmmm.
Cycling: it's fun. It's easy. It's cheap. It's not harmful to the earth. It's useful. There can be baskets involved. IT'S PERFECT.
Reading: can't stop, ever. I once even brought my book into the shower because I was so hooked!! Shampoo bottles can be good book openers.
Meditation: always on my to do list! Really helps anxiety!
DOCUMENTARIES!!! Political. Social. Criminal. Environmental. Nature. Economics. I love it!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm tone deaf. It's always on in the background but never the focal point of my activity, unless it's live music. That's when the soul is involved.
Movies: not my thing
Books: books I can learn from. My favourite one at the moment is The a Chosen by Chaim Potok, I learnt a lot about Judaism in NewYork during the Second World War.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Created my drag king character Stevie McRiode and entered a pageant to escort my drag queen Lorraine Illingus. We spoke and performed and lip synced for our lives to advocate for same sex marriage to be made legal in Ireland.
On May 23rd, 2015 the referendum was passed :D
