I'm a civil engineer who spends most of my free time volunteering for charity. I'm pretty outgoing and can talk to pretty much anyone about anything - the only problem is making me shut up! A package holiday is my idea of hell - I like to experience the places I visit properly and find out about the local culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've managed to travel to a fair few places by staying at friends' houses (without the need for the website!). I first used CS in the UK when I was moved down south for work and needed somewhere to stop over the weekend and wanted to try and make friends with someone in the area.

I had elephants walking past my tent and waking me up during the night on safari in Zambia :)
