À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Be happy. Meet new people. Share your passions. Share the human experience.

ABOUT ME

I'm a really fun-loving girl, and super outgoing. I absolutely love meeting new people. I have a knack for languages, and want to learn as many as possible.

I laugh a lot and always try to have a positive attitude. I'm really good at finding the bright side of life. My viewpoint is: "As long as we're on this planet, we might as well enjoy it!" So: live it up. Travel. Be crazy. Meet new people. Keep an open mind. Expand your "box." Be adventurous. Do what you love. Have fun.

I try to be open to other cultures, religions, and people and I try to accept everyone for who they are by understanding where they come from. Even if I don't agree with your opinions, I try and see that as an opportunity to learn something else. Plus, it can lead to a fun debate/discussion.

PHILOSOPHY

I want others to achieve the "high on life" feeling that I experience daily. :) Carpe diem. I'm truly happy and live my life to the very fullest.

I consider myself open-minded, and that's something I value a lot in people.

"I hope that all of you are well.

To laugh often and love much;

to win the respect of intelligent persons and affection of children;

to find the best in others; to give of one's self;

to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived...

this is to have succeeded."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson--

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to mostly contribute by making connections with other people by traveling, and by promoting this really cool site :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed on great couches in Amsterdam and Washington D.C. and Barcelona. I plan to do lots more.

I've also met up with a couple CSers in Denver, showed them around.

I lived in Bamberg, Germany for a semester and got to know and make connections with a few of the "Bamberg CSers" mostly from going to meetings and a few of their gatherings.

Centres d'intérêt

Reading, languages, learning, recycling, comedy/improv. I live life to the fullest and enjoy everything in life. If someone asks me to go do something, especially something different, new, and exciting, I will always say yes. I'm also a BIG environmentalist. I believe it is our responsibility to the Earth, animals, and other humans on this planet to recycle and help the earth in ANY way that is humanly possible.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: I love almost every kids' movie ever. They're so cute and I'm just a big kid at heart. Plus comedies. Favorite movie ever: The Lion King.

Music: I like listening to music, but don't do it often. I play the clarinet and the piano. I was in marching band for 8 years. I was such a band geek. And even though I'm not actively playing the piano or taking lessons anymore, I still love it and will play it here or there to try and keep certain songs under my fingers.

Books: I just LOVE to read. I read almost anything and am always up for a book discussion or suggestions for more books to read.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Studied abroad in Bamberg, Germany.

There's nothing like Volksfest (like a mini-Oktoberfest) in Bavaria, Germany. It's possibly one of my favorite places in the whole world. :)

Las Fallas in Valencia, Spain was one of the coolest fiestas I've ever attended and recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Studying abroad for a semester in Spain.
Living in Spain with a Galician family as their nanny for a summer.
5 week German exchange.

Scuba diving in Cozumel, Mexico.
Skydiving.

Being a camp counselor for two amazing summers at Camp Chief Ouray.

Becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer in Macedonia.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Teach: Everyone makes a difference. "Never doubt that a small group of dedicated individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -Margaret Mead. Also, this quote: "If the Flinstones has taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement." -Homer Simpson. ^^Laughter and silliness should be treasured, they help keep us sane.

Learn: Other languages, other cultures.

Share: My love for life.
