About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work less and explore more.

ABOUT ME

I like to climb the mountains and dive the seas. I love my friends and family but also my job -- which keeps me thousands and thousands of miles away from many (but not all) of them.

PHILOSOPHY

My parents taught me two lessons I try to live by. 1 -- perfect people are boring. 2 -- Try to leave the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just starting out -- I think the world is a better place when people just stop and take the time to grab a drink together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted. Keep meaning to take a trip where I can surf but that hasn't happened yet, been too busy traveling for work or to places I know people.

Interests

Reading, yoga, traveling. I love high altitude trekking although need to be better about making more time. I have summitted Kilimanjaro, made it to summit day on Aconcagua (before weather turned everyone back) and hiked the Inca trail. I'm planning Elbrus for summer 2010.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a big movie or music fan. Avid reader, pretty much anything from popular fiction -- especially thrillers to "deeper" or educational books. My top ten list includes "The Eight" "Blindness" "A Seperate Peace" "John Adams" and most popular serial mystery writers. I'm currently reading Karen Armstrong's biography of the Prophet as well as John Grisham's latest collection of short stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an international observer for the elections in Sierra Leone which ushered in the first peaceful transition of power in decades.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook a mean batch of brussel sprouts. I want to learn how to fix a watch.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bahamas, Bahrain, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, France, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands, British

Countries I’ve Lived In
