Über mich
Hello!
My name is Stanislava. I study literature at Belgrade's Faculty of Philology. At the moment, I'm stuck on searching for alchemical and floral motifs in the books I'm reading, as well as dream-sequences, mirrors, labyrinths, and out of whack space-time. I'm into art as well. I used to paint a bit but now it's mostly just badly-drawn comics on the margins of my notes, they are quite happy though. I like to think of myself as a broad-minded person, a good conversation is always welcome!!
I've used Couchsurfing indirectly a few times now, as I've traveled with a friend to Vienna, Budapest and Passau. You can check the references on her profile (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/emilija-vucicevic) since that's what we used to get in touch with people. Emilija is often my travel buddy, so if I refer to her in a request-to-stay message, you know who I mean :)
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Travel is a great way of helping one expand as a person as it provides you with all this new information to process, which then fills you with appreciation for the differences and similarities between cultures. I think couchsurfing is a very laid-back way of travel. You get to know not only different kinds of folks (as humans are seriously fascinating!!), but you can also look at the places you visit from an insider's perspective. Whether someone takes you to their favorite spot in the city, a cool bar, gives you tips on how to avoid tourist-traps, or just shares a pleasant conversation with you, the experience is always much more personal, warm and impactful. I think it's great that you can arrive at a place you know nothing about (probably not even the language) and feel a little less alien as you have someone to talk to and to help you get around.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Here are some of the things that recently made an impact on me:
As for music, Gentle Giant has been a great discovery (I've accidentally stepped into the world of prog). I have a lot of good Serbian bands I can share with you!
I really enjoy the films of Federico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman , Luis Buñuel, Jean-Luc Godard, David Lynch, Andrei Tarkovsky, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders...
As for books - I've recently got into magical realism and Latin-American literature, but I still need to fully discover it and devote my attention to it as I'm currently on the 'pure fascination' stage of comprehending. I cannot pass on the opportunity to mention Danilo Kiš and Vasko Popa in this category as well, pure art right there.
