About Me
Hi ! I am Stanny Goffin, a student from The Netherlands who just came back from exchange in San Diego. I am 21 years old. I love to travel, meet people and learn!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Ever since I went on exchange in San Diego, I am even more interested in people from other countries than I already was. I believe that every person has a story to tell, and that I can learn something new from everyone. By listening to people, one can learn about oneself, the world and cultures. I think living with locals, it gives traveling another dimension.
Also, since I love to hear about people's life stories (but not if you don't want to tell), I secretly really like to read profiles on couchsurfing. I confess that I copy-paste a skeleton message when sending out requests, but I really like sending personal messages, if time allows. Even if we never get the chance to make a couchsurfing experience together, I am learning already, just by reading people's profiles. And I like that... !
Interests
My ambition is (social) psychology, which is my major. Especially psychological research that addressess the human mind and how we think, really interests me. I am serious about my study, but definitely prioritize learning from people in person. I am a positive, sometimes crazy person. I like to make music, dance (a lot, everywhere, at any time), hang out with friends and go to bars/clubs. I'm always up for spontaneous, random adventures and I value experiences over anything else.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2010, I visited Peru for three weeks, where I traveled around and met many people from there. I volunteered in schools and foundations.
Also, the exchange to San Diego, traveling around California (and surrounding states, Vancouver, and Mexico), was pretty amazing and crazy ! The best part was living in I-House (international house), a community of about 150 people from all over the world. I can't even tell you in words how amazing, inspiring, and life changing this experience was.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ever since I went on exchange, and literally shared sooo much knowledge, experiences and philosophies from all over the world, I really like to think about life. I love to talk with people about their way of thinking, so that I can learn from them and they might learn from me.
Some advice before you send me a request (since I receive a looooot...):
First of all, I cannot host any more people until mid-September. Also, I can only host one person at a time (I live in a tiny little students room). Most importantly, I do not live in Amsterdam !!! I actually don't like Amsterdam that much... If you are visiting Amsterdam, you'd better stay at people who live there or at least like the city. There are lot's of people who do:). I'd love to show you around Utrecht though!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My company, crazy and happy enthousiasm, and conversations about life! Also, if I like you, I can help you planning your travels, since I have friends all over the world now !
