About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to teach college students to love European history while fitting as much fun and travelling in between as humanly possible.
ABOUT ME
I love swimming, hiking, and being outdoors in general. Reading, writing, listening to/making music, and talking with friends. Having a pint on a nice sunny day is one of my more rarely experienced, but most enjoyed pleasures.
Other random facts:
I was born and raised in Massena, NY, a small town on the Canadian boarder. It is nowhere near Niagara Falls (please see map of NY State). Despite being a small and boring little town, growing up there instilled in me a great reverence for the natural world and a great appreciation for the close group of friends I acquired there.
I truly dislike computers despite all they do for me on a daily basis. I merely exploit them unappreciatively for iTunes, e-mail, and Microsoft word.
3. By contrast, I love libraries, despite their information limitations. I like old books, new books about old things, and old things in general (although I don't feel strongly one way or the other about old people)
4. I decided to learn Latin because I think it is cool. When Catholic monks or the Others take over the world, I will be ready for them.
I have two sisters. One works on infectious diseases and the other works on sustainable wilderness (they may one day save the world, but I will save this country from want of knowledge about the French).
I love water. I love swimming, watching people swim, watching water move, jumping into water, spraying people with water, pushing people into water, taking showers, snorkeling, and drawing pictures with water in them.
PHILOSOPHY
Make sure that what you are doing and where/who you are makes you happy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once spent two days with my sister repelling into and hiking/swimming through canyons in Utah. Despite the fact that I nearly sweated to death, then nearly fell to my death, then nearly froze to death, and the fact that I lost my new sunglasses… it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I always try to keep myself believing that I am an expert in nothing, so that I can keep learning, but I'm quite knowledgeable about: Hiking, swimming, nature generally, and especially European history.
