About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.
ABOUT ME
I'm originally from the United States (born in Memphis, raised in Southern Illinois and went to college in Louisville, Kentucky...) I graduated with my degree in Equine Business in 2006 and decided to move to Oklahoma for my first post-graduation job; this job was seasonal so I up and went to South Africa for six weeks in the summer of 2007 for my first big trip overseas.
I returned to Oklahoma to decide I did want to get my master's... at an overseas University. I decided "international business" would be best learnt outside the United States. I've been in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since August 2008. Since I've been in Dubai I've travelled to Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Israel and Jordan. Then in July/August 2009 I had two months' free from university... so since rent in Dubai is outrageous I went backpacking (by myself) to Southeast Asia!
I'm 25 and I've been to 23 countries... which means I have two to go and then one new country each year after that, or something :) I graduate with my MBA in May 2010 so we'll see if I stay in the UAE or try somewhere new! Life is exciting!
PHILOSOPHY
We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend. -ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON
All you've got to do is decide to go and the hardest part is over. So go! -LONELY PLANET
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Would love to show new people and visitors around Dubai! Currently living in a dorm room on AUD campus and cannot host overnight guests at the moment. Have met a few CSers in the UAE and showed some visitors this crazy country so send me a message if you're visiting!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a friend in the U.S. travel the whole country on a massive road trip who had positive reviews of this site! Unfortunately I cannot currently host in Dubai until I graduate and move out of student housing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm a total dork for historical nonfiction miniseries, especially colonial America and World War II (I miss watching History Channel with my dad!) I do delve into the chick flick craze and still regularly watch Star Wars and Harry Potter and Terminator. I love series!
Television (via iTunes, because TV is about 2 years behind in the UAE): The Office, 24, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy
Books: Yes I have read and loved the Twilight series, so shoot me. Currently re-reading the whole Harry Potter series. And historical non-fiction that isn't boring crap. And, oh, my MBA textbooks... sometimes :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've bungee jumped off the 216m (700 feet) Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa (twice!) and gone sky diving off the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. I've floated in Dead Sea in Jordan and walked the steps of Jesus in Jerusalem. I've hiked the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia and ridden an elephant in Lao. I've toured the Colosseum in Rome and... OK I'm going to stop now. I've done some pretty amazing stuff and try not to take it for granted. Go travel people!
I've attended 10 Kentucky Derbys (every year since 1999 except 2007) and attended live horse racing in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore and have also visited racetracks in Qatar and Macau.
