About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Refining my vision, learning to see and work with the realities that keep me from true self.

ABOUT ME

I write words, play music, make pictures out of paint, make sculpture out of garbage, and administrate web servers for money. I'm into meditation and stuff, although I'm definitely having trouble establishing my own practice. My favorite thing to do is to gain new perspective, so I like going to museums, art galleries, and riding my bicycle around new cities to see what I can see.

I am fairly introverted and usually don't go up to people to start conversations, but I'm almost always willing to have them if someone else would like to talk. I like questions, both answering and asking :)

PHILOSOPHY

I live by the void, I live in the light, and growing is what drives me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I appreciate visitors and enjoy helping people travel on the cheap, since I feel it's one of the best ways to learn about yourself, others, and a general human relationship to the universe.

I suppose I also want to pay it forward in a way that other people have helped me, by giving someone a place to sleep and food to eat when they need it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think my friend found a place for us to stay in Windsor, Canada through couchsurfing, but all of the times I've gone "couchsurfing" have been impromptu. What I mean is that I pack bag and either hitch-hike or jump on a train and just expect to camp wherever I end up. Sometimes, though, people offer you a place to stay, even though it's always totally unplanned. I think the most surprising time was when a friend and I asked a Blockbuster manager if we could stay the night in their back lot and she just offered to let us use her floor since they were in the process of moving and, for some reason, had extra mattresses in the living room.

Interests

Art, music, walking, bicycling, meditating (novice), exploring weird things and places, learning new stuff, drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables and fresh bread, and making stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After riding around a lake on a death/kite tube, we went slowly up a river in this boat, surrounded by the forests of Washington state, and saw 4 or 5 bald eagles circling way up high and land in their nests.
