About Me
NOTICE
Please no last minute couch requests. I have a busy life now, and I like to plan ahead to have guests. Please request at least two days in advance, preferably a week or more in advance. If you are on a bicycling trip or a road trip and can't know exactly when you'll arrive, make a request for an approximate date range, again, far in advance.
CURRENT MISSION
Learn as much as I can.
ABOUT ME
I love people. I like long conversations about anything and everything. I like the ocean, art, writing, music, science, philosophy and ideas generally. I frequent coffee shops. I've tried very many hobbies in my life. I made cheese for a while, then made furniture, then organized meetups for 3d printing, then worked on algorithmic art, learned to juggle, played hacky sack, surfed practically nonstop for a year, now I'm studying writing. I've played guitar since I was 15, I love jogging and going to see live music.
PHILOSOPHY
Socrates had a notion of justice which I absolutely love. It is captured in the motto "to each their own." That to live happy lives, we must each be able to find it for ourselves and give each other the space to do so. To me this means not only respecting but cherishing differences between people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to travel and couchsurf more. Recently, I've taken on a full time job and don't have the flexibility that I once did. I still like to host travelers as much as possible.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
People in the couchsurfing community are usually really wonderful people. I love meeting new people and hanging out.

Teach, Learn, Share
I love writing stories and it would be a joy to write you a story. I asked my 8 year old nephew once if he wanted a story and what he wanted it to be about. He said that he wanted it to be about a boy who journals, says the words crap, piss and hell and is an adventure. I ended up writing a short story about a boy who gets a magical journal that makes things come true. Unfortunately, he writes some bad words and has to battle with the consequences. I basically send my nephew, the main character, to hell. I still feel conflicted at doing this but the story demanded it.
I play guitar and could do some beginning guitar lessons! Or maybe I can teach some quantum physics ;)
There is so much I want to learn that it's hard to pick a particular thing. Basically if it's interesting and new to me, I'll want to learn it.
Countries I’ve Visited
