Self-inflicted punishment is one of the worst things you can do to yourself because it mentally and physically wears you down.

Keep an open mind to everything around you, including that religion you just don't understand or that way of life that just doesn't appeal to you. It may not be right for you, but it is for someone.

Be true to yourself and your friends, and you will live a happy life.
