CURRENT MISSION
Live for the moment and positively influence the lives of people I come in contact with
ABOUT ME
Multiculturalist - "Understand others to better understand your self"
It all started with the Erasmus Exchange Programme I completed in Madrid, Spain back in 2011. An amazing experience that opened my eyes to the cultural diversity of the world and made me appreciate differences as a way to better understand my self, as well as others.
Philosophical
I strive not to take what I have for granted and always try to reflect upon my experiences to reach new heights. Whenever I visit a new place, I want to absorb as much as I can in terms of culture, gastronomy, architecture, and way of life.
PHILOSOPHY
"Live for the moment, as it can be eternal"
Every incident that unfolds in our lives happens in the sphere of the now; the present moment. The future is a present moment to come, while the past is a previous present moment. We experience our lives in the spectrum of the present moment; all there is. Thus, I live my life on a marginal basis, with the end point the end of the day, and not the end of my life.
"Life long learning"
One of the grounding reasons I participate in Couchsurfing is to fulfil my moto/ way of life. We all have something new to discover every single day, be it through cultural exchange or education.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Starting with Rome, Italy, my first experience was amazing, as I had the opportunity to interact culturally and communicate with my host exceptionally well. I will stick to my mission of influencing people positively when hosted, as well as exchanging culture!
In the long-term, I see myself participating in numerous couchsurfing experiences in order to "gain a better understanding" of different cultures and have fun at the same time.
This world can be viewed from diverse perspectives, making it almost impossible for one to claim absolute knowledge. I stick with "Life long learning" as my moto, and believe that we have something new to learn everyday. Couchsurfing is an excellent way to fulfil this way of living, and I'm glad this great opportunity exists!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My very first Couchsurfing experience was in Rome, Italy where I had a very good time and have come to appreciate the couchsurfing way very much. Second experience was in Hamburg, Germany where I had an amazing time as well. Istanbul was my 3rd exceptional couchsurfing experience.
Having built up my couchsurfing experience in Europe, I continued to couchsurfing in my almost 2 month long backpacking trip in Asia. Kyoto, Busan, Hanoi, Bangkok and GeorgeTown. My latest couchsurfing experiences have been in San Francisco.
Couchsurfing is a great way to build meaningful and cultural relationships and friendships. For example, I was really excited that my couch in Busan decided to join me in my remaining trip to Southeast Asia and we have become really good friends ever since!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It is really difficult to shortlist, yet alone just pick one thing! However, the most amazing experience of my life was my almost 2 months backpacking trip in Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Couchsurfing has empowered me by pushing me out of my comfort zone to meet different cultures across the world, in line with my philosophy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think i still have a lot to learn in this multiculturalist world, however, I really enjoy having deep- meaning conversations and I would be glad to exchange world-view opinions.
