ABOUT ME

20-year-old student in Chicago, but grew up in the suburbs of New York. I just finished my third year in college, and rather than stop learning for a month, I'm in Berlin for the summer taking German language classes. Having always been a homebody, I've never done much independent traveling before this, so my trip to Berlin and especially my venture into Couchsurfing represent a definite step outside of my comfort zone.

I tend to be very laid-back - sometimes to the point of laziness, but generally meaning that I'm just easy to get along with.

PHILOSOPHY

The question of my (or anyone's) place in the world is still a wide-open one for me, but I believe it's important to have as cosmopolitan, sympathetic, and flexible a mindset as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm actually brand new to CouchSurfing. After hearing so many good things about it from my friends, I decided to try it out this summer. It's been great so far, and I look forward to hosting people at my new apartment in the fall.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: classical (radio DJ sometimes at school), hip-hop

books: Moby Dick, Absalom Absalom!, Proust, Shelley, Ezra Pound - sort of masochistic but I find that books that cause the most frustration can turn out to be the most rewarding.

movies: those directed by Whit Stillman, Billy Wilder, Ingmar Bergman, been sorta out of touch with movies recently though.
