About Me

Who is Steb?

Simply, he's that guy who's always smiling and dancing. I love music, traveling, and meeting new people.

Recently I've begun a bit of a project. I'm starting a podcast called Stories with Strangers. I felt I needed to start this project because I've met so many incredible people with such incredible and inspirational stories that I felt these stories needed to be heard. The podcast brings people together to accomplish this mission.

I want to keep learning and listening to others is the best way to learn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to continue to travel and this is the best way to do it! You get to meet amazing people, hear amazing stories, and sometimes you even get a tour of the town! What better way to travel?

Music, Movies, and Books

Techno. Psytrance. Funk. Cumbia. House. Indie. 90s hip hop.

I never was much of a reader until recently. I typically read books that teach me something. Recently I've read The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker, The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness by Carl Johan Calleman and The Idiots Guide to the Gnostic Gospels.

As far as movies go I like comedies, artsy indie films, documentaries, visually striking films, and movies that just plain tell a good story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left for a two weeks vacation and never came back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about a lot of things, namely Buddhism, meditation, permaculture, sustainable life styles, culture, wire wrapping, how to build things with my hands, how to fix stuff. I want to learn what I now realize are the most basic skills one can have.

I have tons of stories to share with you. I hope we can learn from each other's experiences.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Thailand, United States
