About Me

IMPORTANT!
DO NOT send messages with other intentions than getting to know each other as FRIENDS. If you've read this and still want to get to know me or stay with me, throw in the word 'turtle' somewhere in the message. The requests that don't include that word will get declined. Now you may continue reading below to get to know me better. :)

Well, my wanderlust has taken over me completely and I can honestly say I'm addicted. I can't come back from a trip not knowing I have an upcoming one, which means I always plan my trips way ahead.

I am also a language lover however I'm only fluent in Swedish, English and Spanish but I am aiming to become fluent in German, Chinese and Irish too.

A couple of years ago I made an actual bucket list of things I have to do before I die and the only rule I have is that nothing can be deleted from the list. So far I have completed 140 out of 400+ goals so I have come very far but I still have a long way to go.

As a person I am a strange mix of an introvert and extrovert. I can be very outgoing and talk till your ears start bleeding and in other situations it takes a little longer before I start opening up but I am always friendly and respectful. I am known for being very laughy and I probably have the lamest sense of humor ever.

Other than that I am a mother of a sweet 10-year old who always manages to brighten my days a little extra and I can't wait for him to grow older so we can share even more amazing travel stories together. So far we have made invaluable memories in France, Netherlands, Chile, Croatia, Greece, Bosnia, Austria and the US but there are many more travel memories to be made!

I post some pictures of my travels on my Instagram for those who are interested: https://www.instagram.com/steephiie/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people from every corner of the world to share experiences and getting to know about their culture. I can only host every other week as I won't host when my son is with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I actually listen to most genres but EDM definitely tops the list of my favourite music genres. BlasterJaxx, twoloud, DVBBS, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, Ummet Ozcan, Sander van Doorn, W&W, Moti, Deorro, Sean&Bobo and many, many more!

I also listen to Reggaeton a lot to connect with my hispanic roots such as Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, J Alvarez, Henry Mendez and Arcangel. But really, I listen to everything you can think of apart from classical music and death metal.

I am not a huge fan of movies or books though. I never read and I rarely watch movies or TV shows. Most of them bore me to death as I feel like all movies are based on the same script with different actors. There are a few exceptions though, like Forrest Gump and Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was almost "homeless" in New York for a night when my flight got cancelled.

Went to Tomorrowland's 10th anniversary in Belgium and had the craziest three days of my life!

Swam with reef sharks in Fiji and touched them

Visited the world's most beautiful beach - Whitehaven beach!

Swam with turtles

Went to King's Day in Amsterdam and met amazing people

I have saved a life.

Went to an NFL game.

Celebrated Halloween in Miami.

Explored my roots in Chile and visited some very poor relatives that made me value what I have.

Went to Disneyland with my son.

Went on 8 trips in less than a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn parkour, skateboarding, surfing and new languages, in fact they're all on my bucket list but it's pretty hard to find time for that.
And also I've wanted to learn how to play drums since I heard MMMBop for the first time when I was 4 years old, and 19 years later I still don't know how to play the drums...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I wish I could say, DIY-skills, cooking, teach you instruments and things like that but in all honesty, I suck at all of them. I know, I'm not so good at selling myself here but I figure honesty is better than making up a false picture of myself. I do however know a great recipe for pineapple pie, and I guess that's something, right?

I hope to share a great time with my host and connect like friends instead of remaining on a "host-surfer level".
