About Me
Well, I'm Stef. A Dutch student from The Netherlands who created a passion for travelling, mainly by visiting South Africa. The first time in 2010 we rented a car and just drove to Namibia, not knowing exactly what we were going to do and it was unforgettable. Two years later I decided to do a placement in South Africa for my study of Business Economics. During this placement I met many locals who were very hospitable. So far a bit about my passion for travelling. In The Netherlands I live in a house with other students/friends so I know what it is to live on my own, without a lot of capital ;) I like to visit my friends throughout Hollland and party or just chill, however, last year I was pretty focused on my current studies so I could take a half year off to travel.
( needs updating as this was the situation in 2015 ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine, who studies in Amsterdam, told me about the time when they had one spare room in there house and just lent it to 'strangers' via CS. I didn't know what to expect but he told me he met nice people from Finland and Italy. The best part for the travellers was that my buddy knows Amsterdam and that he could advise them on spots besides the famous (too) touristy ones. Later I read about it in a book about being a world citizen, where the guy just did it to meet people and now he has friends around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share
We can talk about my studies concerning economics and communication, if you really want.
Another thing I like to do are challenges. For over a year now I only shower cold (I quite like it now). Other challenges I did for a period of time were getting up in 5 seconds every morning and not eating and only drinking water for 48h. I like to experience how these things feel and how I cope with it. If you know a challenge that is easy to implement (like the cold shower, only turn on the cold tap), please let me know!
