Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels, I experienced so many times how wonderful it is to have a local host.
Now I have enough space to host strangers and want to give back, so to speak.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I hiked up a almost 3000m mountain in Brazil with a friend. Our plan was to stay there only in a sleeping bag.
We were young and stupid and it was abnormally cold. But we realized it too late when it was already dark and we had no chance to go back down. Suddenly a group of young locals came and we got talking. During the conversation it became clear that they had accidentally (!) taken one tent too many (!) on a 3000m high (!) mountain.
They gave us the tent and even something to eat. This bowl with noodles will be unforgettable forever.
Basically, it was Couchsurfing on a mountain.
