My name is Stefan and I finished my Master degree in October 2016. One week after finishing my Masters Thesis I started a motorcycling tour with a friend from Germany to Iran/Oman for 4 months.

I grew up in Freiberg, which lies in the Ore mountains in Saxony/Germany. After school I did a 5-month trip to New Zealand and Australia for work and travel. Then I started studying mechanical engineering. 2015 I was travelling in southeast-Asia for half a year. i also really enjoyed a 3-week cycling tour through Norway in 2015.

I try to get an impression of how the globalized world works with all its connections. I think for that it is really important to get to know other cultures and people. So CS is probably a good way to realize that ;-). I`m not really the great party-guy but I really like to meet people for a beer or whatever to have a nice talk.

In my spare time I really like cycling and diving. Since my journey to southeast-asia I'm also quite fascinated by motorcycling, especially if it gets a bit more offroad ;-).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like the idea of couchsurfing. If I stay in a hotel it`s basically the same all ovcer the world. But the actual difference is the people and the culture. So, whats better then staying with local people to see the real life. I think thats also what makes travelling exciting: see the local life and not just what you see on the TV at home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015 I did a cycle tour through Norway and Sweden for about 1800km in 3 weeks. I started in Bergen and finished in Trelleborg. On the way I only slept in the tent. The scenery was just gorgeos, especially in the mountains of Hardangervidda in Norway.
