Overview
About Me
My life involves a lot of time in and around the ocean. I'm a marine biologist and scientific diver with a passion for underwater videography. Music, friends and family all play a big role in my life. I'm an explorer by nature, always seeking something or some place new. I love to meet new people, share stories and especially have a good laugh.
My work has taken me to many countries and coral reefs right around the world in remote places such as Palau, The Solomon Islands and The Maldives. I grew up in Adelaide, spent most of my 20's living and working in various places around Australia such as Perth and Cairns as well as overseas in the UK and Thailand. I have travelled quite extensively around Asia and especially love Indonesia, The Philippines and Malaysia.
Now living back in Adelaide I am working on a film about Australia's kelp forest ecosystems, what we are calling the Great Southern Reef. I know South Australia well and happy to share tips and secrets about this less frequently visited and often underrated part of oz.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Over the years I have hosted a number of surfers. When I used to live in Cairns, Australia - we hosted new surfers almost every week and met some really cool people. I have since surfed in a number of countries as I find it the best way to get that local experience and insider knowledge of the place you are visiting.
Happy to show people around Adelaide and SA to make sure you have a memorable experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most amazing place I've been above water: South Georgia Islands on the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula where I found myself surrounded by the largest colony of king penguins in the world. The whole beach was completely packed with not only with these adorable penguins, but also thousands of fur seal pups and many absolutely gigantic elephant seals.
Most amazing place underwater: Raja Ampat, West Papua. This place has been recently discovered as the most biodiverse in the world for fish and coral species. Diving here absolutely blew my mind. Here I discovered the true marvels of what our planet has to offer. From a wide variety of the most stunning corals and fish, but also crazy little critters like moluscs and crustaceans that were so unique and intricate, which seemed to just appear out of every tiny gap in the reef.
