About Me
Hi folks, I’m Stef!
Where to start?
I’m 30 yo, Italian girl, born and raised in a little town by the Alps and Lake Maggiore, in North Italy.
Since I spent most of my life surrounded by mountains, I feel totally free and in peace when I'm on the peak.
I find it the best way to meditate.
I love good food, good wine and good company. I will never say no to a friend’s invitation and I will never refuse to “fit an extra seat at the dinner table”.
I love to have friends over as much as I love to visit them wherever they are; to be part of their life, share experiences and feel home away from home.
I would describe myself as an open-minded, honest, curious and friendly person. I love adventures, I like to try new things, find new hobbies and spend my time with my friends.
I love travelling, especially for long periods. This way I am able to immerse myself in the culture, and I can experience more and understand the people and their values better. I’m fascinated by a variety of people, those who are slightly non-conformist and confident in their individual weirdness. I simply admire people who are themselves.
I tend to see good in everything and everyone, or I should say I try to, and be grateful for what I have.
As Italians, I can be quite loud, passionate, rude and straightforward.
Recently I did a yoga course in India and I’ve been practicing it every other day so far.
I enjoy watching any kind of sports on TV, make puzzles, watch documentaries and go to festivals.
I lived in England on and off for 3.5 years so I am used to share common spaces.
In England I learned what means sharing and the good feeling when you do it.
Now, I live with my partner in the rainy and grey (but still beautiful) Netherlands.
I studied as a nurse in Italy and practiced in the UK for a few years before undertaking a Master in Global Health in the Netherlands. I have just finished my studies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling, meeting new people from all walks of life, share experiences and good vibes and I think CS is one of the best way to do it.
It reminds me there still lots of good people around.
Interests
I like to talk with anyone who has something to tell, to teach, to share.
I’m a nature and animal lover. I enjoy spending time with my dog when I’m at home.
I like reading, running, travel, trekking, cycling, and practicing yoga. I would love to improve my Spanish or at least learn another language.
Live more sustainably.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love any type of music.
Movies: La Vita e’ bella, The Shawshank Redemption, The Danish girls, The great Gatsby.
Books: Women who run with wolves, Shantaram, Se non ora, quando?
