About Me

I would describe myself as an adventurous, enthusiastic person, who has a natural curiosity for meeting new people, exploring new cultures and visiting different places in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am at a crossroads on my life’s path / journey. I want to share new experiences and meet new people, beyond my close circle of friends, family and work colleagues. I feel it is my time, now. I have been a young mother, but now my children are adult and becoming increasingly more independent and leading / shaping their own lives, I can now be much more flexible to shape my own new great moments, and memories for myself.

Interests

No more and no less than just life.

I am particularly interested in a new challenge. An adventure to discover more about me and what the world, and life, has to offer, beyond my day to day work in Education, and my family commitments.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide and varied taste and interest in music, and enjoy reading and literature. I particularly enjoy Rock, Soul, Jazz, Blues and Folk music both ‘live’ concert venues and listening for my own pleasure at home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From a recent Teacher Exchange with a school in the UK, I opened up my home, to host an English Teacher. I have learnt from this experience that being introduced to someone who was at first a stranger, can blossom into a great new long term friendship, to share life’s experiences which is very exciting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a couch in the Living room.
Bathroom / Shower facilities can be shared within me and my daughter. The accommodation is flexible so that you can either ‘do your own thing’ or ‘share life’ living with a German Family and our daily routines, life and eating arrangements.

I live in the Center of Dortmund.
Public Transport is approximately 100/400 metres away from the house by means of a Subway, that only takes 5 minutes to get to Central Station. Downtown is 5-10 minutes away on foot. I am happy to show and share the interesting sights of Dortmund and I would gladly be your own personal Tour Guide!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
