About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting great people, making connections, and living a peaceful, wonderfully happy, and fulfilling life and sharing positivity with those I meet

ABOUT ME

I am just a happy soul looking to meet sincere, kind, people who are passionate about life. I do what I can to learn more about myself and keep conscious of being simply a kind person everyday. Sometimes people underestimate and forget about the power of such a simple idea. I love tons of movies and read a decent amount.

PHILOSOPHY

Desiderata.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to show some people around my city of San Francisco. I also hope to host people on my couch or air mattress!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Done some surfing in Europe, but I'm hoping to host a good amount of people during the time I have my own place here in San Francisco. :-)

Interests

Politics, movies, comic books (specifically of the Batman kind...), music, philosophy, religion...I am very open minded and try to place myself in the shoes of others. I love art as I believe art really is everything around us. I love to travel and hope to do much more of it throughout my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Lord of the Rings trilogy, Angela's Ashes, Frankenstein, Alice and Wonderland, Life of Pi, Pride and Prejudice, The Stranger, Metamorphosis...and many more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many...but I hope to do some more in the future...some particularly stand out moments in my life to this point have been...

1) Hiking the 18 miles to the peak of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park
2) Spending a month in White Mountains National Forest in New Hampshire doing conservation work and doing backcountry backpacking
3) Spending two weeks doing similar work in Montana...big sky country is amazing...
4) Spending 5 days on Rio Dulce in Guatemala with my family and partying in a bungalow, watching the sunset over the sea, and partying till dawn with them
5) Attending the Lantern Festival in Florence and observing a father with his son...the story goes:
The festival is a tradition which includes beginning the night in a parade from Piazza Santa Croce and ending up in Piazza Annunciata. People carry a paper lantern with a small fire inside to keep it lit. As you walk other children, with pea shooters, try to shoot a hole into your lantern to have it destroyed in a ball of fire. (Slightly hazardous, but so fun to watch). One little boy had been carrying a lantern and when it was shot down, he cried hysterically. I watched him as he was comforted by his father who said to him in Italian that "all things have to end someway or another...and to look at how beautiful the lantern is even as it is turning into ash..." It was wonderful.
6) Sunset in Cinque Terre.
7) Traveling around Sicily.

Teach, Learn, Share

Panna is probably the best topping for pasta ever, dancing at least like an idiot in your room for a few minutes a day keeps the doctor away...for the most part, learn to appreciate the worth of a moment, candlelight can warm up any party and so can christmas lights, squirrels can and will bite you if you get too close (long story), rolling an orange on a flat surface makes it easier to peel, and just because others do not treat you in the best form should not gray your view on life. Once I gave money to a homeless man in San Francisco and was asked by a more cynical person, who happens to be a friend of mine, why I did that. "What if they just buy alcohol, drugs, or who knows what else?" After thinking about it I realized just because the world may not react the way you would like it to, doesn't mean it should prevent you from being kind and do what you believe is the right thing to do. An eye for eye definitely makes the whole world blind.
