Overview
About Me
I find it somewhat hard to describe myself, to be honest. I suppose I would say I am an easy-going guy, who enjoys spending time with the people I care about the most – although I have been described by some as a party-pooper, because I don’t drink alcohol: it’s quite normal for me to order sparkling water at a night out and, needless to say, this has become the subject of jokes among some of my closest friends.
I love exploring new places, above all through locals, because I am very interested in getting to know the culture and the daily life behind the place.
I have been described by my guests as a caring host: I like to welcome people and to make them get to know more of my culture, above all when it comes to cuisine. None have so far died from what I have cooked, so I suppose I can say I know my way around the kitchen, at least a little!
As for the rest, feel free to ask!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people, getting to know new cultures and share ideas, opinions and experiences. Which sounds a lot like a line Miss Universe would throw in to get some votes, but I assure it’s sincere.

Music, Movies, and Books
I particularly enjoy listening to music from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, but I can listen to anything, as long as it’s not beyond-human-capacity-loud. Among my favourite artists are Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Adriano Celentano, Quartetto Cetra, Siw Malmquist and Trude Herr.
As for the movies, I mainly enjoying watching sci-fi movies and light comedy: movies for me are a way of relaxing, so I tend not to dive into heavy genres, such as dramas or historic movies. I cannot watch war movies about real events, as I have the delightful tendency of empathizing and therefore feeling emotionally annihilated.
Finally, as for the books… I’m a lousy reader! I read a lot because of my studies and the idea of approaching a book gives me a headache. I have to admit, though, that if I get my head into one I like, it’s most likely I finish it in no time.
