Hello, I'm Steffen! I'm from the area and been living in Tromsø for 8 years in total :) Years ago I went away for studies and travel but I chose to return, because at heart I'll always belong to the North. I've been here for 5 years now and still counting! One of the great things about living here in Tromsø is that it’s surrounded by beautiful nature and scenery, which is something I really treasure.

So, who am I, you ask?
I'm open-minded, accommodating and easygoing towards people from any walk of life. I've been curious as long as I can remember! I started as a chef, and ended up as an engineer- I don't know what happened, I think I tripped somewhere along the way :) I like to solve problems and give advice. I'll fix things myself, and if that doesn't work, I'll research like crazy and then I try again!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel in the style of backpacking, living in hostels, meeting lots of people and making new acquaintances, sharing and making memories and stories! So, I see this as an opportunity to still experience some of this essence, even though I do not have vacation enabling me to travel. Instead you'll be bringing some of the world with you and I get to meet you! And in time, while listening to your stories, maybe I'll try surfing some myself :)

You may wonder, "member since 2008 and so few references?". Well, I had a plan about couchsurfing in 2008, but never got to it and didn't pick it up again until the beginning of 2018. So there you have it :)

Music - quite open-minded, often mood driven. Not so much country, rap, house/trance or jazz, but I'm open to suggestions! Some favourites among many are Chris Cornell, Kings of Leon, Queen, Avenged 7fold, Matt Corby, NEEDTOBREATHE, George Ezra..

I like movies👍

When there's something I wanna learn, I read books. But once in a looong long while, it happen that I read some fiction. Maybe I should give it another go?
