About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To dance the globe

ABOUT ME

Enjoying this precious live I´ve been given, more conscious every year.

PHILOSOPHY

To learn as much as I can as long as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfing as well as hosting. Met friends for life.

Interests

Working to live, which means seeing friends during the week and dancing to psychedelic sounds in the weekend. I also have a particular interest for history, old buildings, people and art. That's why I started to study history of arts in 2008. Although I tend to cling to things that are familiar I like to learn and experience. I took guitar lessons - which didn't work out because of my lack in following through - so now I'm going to do a Djembé course: byebye tabulature :-)
I am fascinated by the universe (Stephen Hawking). Furthermore I have developed an interest in buddhism and practised this during a ten day Vipassana-retreat in Malaysia in 2007. In fall 2009 I took a winecourse to learn more about this heavenly and diverse fluid. Actually I take some kind of new course about every year :-)
My sport is tennis.
I'd love to live a few months in Italy sometime. To learn the beautiful language, get to know the culture and learn all about pasta from a genuine mama mia :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very broad taste in music but there is one kind that seems to get to the core of me (psychedelic/goa). The energetic and frivolous sounds of this electronic music can make me dance all night long.
I mostly like European and arthouse movies.
Reading books is good, but I just don't get to it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving through Europe by car:
Utrecht-Oslo
Utrecht-Prague
Utrecht-Riga
Utrecht-Istanbul
The great thing about that is experiencing the country and the people that you would normally fly over. And on the destination you can drive around which makes it easy to see more than just the tourist highlights.

Teach, Learn, Share

As Dustin Hoffman said in Rainman 'I'm an excellent driver.' But I am for real, haha.
However I think that this particular field of expertise is not in great demand with Couchsurfers :-))
But if you are interested I could teach you to sit behind the steering wheel in such a way that it makes you a more confident driver. And of course the driving skills that go with that. Part of my profession is testing new cars and I have also raced a couple of times. Because of that driving a car for me is what riding a shopping cart through the supermarket is to a kid - or something like that.

I would like to learn... almost anything. And good tips regarding to food and drinks are always welcome.
