About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be of service in all my relations, lifting to be liftied. To see, breath in and taste as much of this planet, it's people and it's spirit as humanly possible in one life time.
ABOUT ME
I'm sober and have been most all of adult life. I try not to be all stuffy about it though. I believe that those who can party in a healthy mannor should. I just pretty much maxed out my hand in my early twenties. I still party, I just don't do it chemically. I used to gauge what a good time I was having by how wrecked I could get. Now I measure it by how far down my body the chicken skin goes. The beauty of chicken skin... you can only get it with human interaction.
In the winter months ( Novemberish-May) I live on the north shore of Oahu and come spring time I migrate slowly to Montauk NY where I have a house boat. I totally dig travelling. I love people, even if I don't always like how they behave. If I find myself grinding tortillas on a mountainside in Peru, wearing a funny little hat, bathing in their culture while learning their language, well, I will concider myself a very, very wealthy man.
I engauge in as many sports and activities as I can, as often as I can but would, without hesitation, cash them all in if any of them ever threatened to keep me from surfing.
When it's my time to go, my goal is to send off a well worn, broken in calloused old body with scars and zippers earned by a decades of exploring the possabilities of life.
Should I be blessed with a familly, I would choose to raise global citizen, teaching my daughters to surf and my sons to sew. Encouraging them never to be victims of societies dictates but to define their own happiness and bathe in it.
I play music and love to share it with those around me. Nothing gets me higher than a cooperative jam session...I can't stand competitive music.
PHILOSOPHY
I beleive that everything happens for us, not too us and that everything can be looked at as a good thing if we a willing to search for the lesson in it...Everything! The most horific events of my life have been able to fit into that equasion, I just needed to be patient and or be willing to change the camera angle of my perseptions. I have grown the most from the adversities in my life and they have also revealed my closest freinds.
A diamond starts out as a lonely lump of coal and it's not until it is subjected to intense and seemingly unbearable pressure and heat that it makes it's transformation into the most solid substance in the world. Clarity may take time but I think we are all here to reflect back to each other the lessons we need to learn to benefit the evollution of us all.
Interests
Surfing! Playing music and sharing stories with the people I meet as I travel around the world insearch of... all the wonderful reflections life has to offer.. Spiritual convictions and disciplines. What works for people in their day to day lives. What makes them tick. What makes them happy. What make us different, what makes us the same.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last fall I found myself in Washington state smoking salmon with the head of the tribal council to the Quileute people, he invited me on the Paddle journey to Lummi 2007. If you type in paddletolummi.com and go to the photo link for canoe journey 2007 you can find me in the 36th picture in the back of the canoe paddling and in the 41st picture in tears as I realize I may quite possibly the richest man alive. To be one of two white people in a group of over 1,100 native americans that represent more than 75 Pacific Northwest nations as they... as we... paddled into Lummi was as humbling an experience as I've ever been blessed to be a part of & boarders the outer reach of my comprehension. I am still reduce to tears as I relive the memories.
OK I posted this a couple of years ago. This all has grown into my being blessed to facilitate bringing a Hawaiian canoe family from Hawaii to participate in these Paddle journeys for the first time ever. If you do Face-book look up Northwest Hawaiian Connection and become a fan to see more about this.
