About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel to every country in the world...

ABOUT ME

I am a Lithuanian PhD student in New York. I'm one of those people who is crazy about travelling and enjoys meeting unique people from different cultures. I love exploring new places and I am absolutely mental when it comes to hiking. For me, hiking is the best thing that was ever invented. I always count my money in terms of how many miles I can travel with it, or how many places I can discover. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to rock climbing. And I mean proper addiction... :D I'm always open to a variety of things. Partying till morning in Vegas, exploring the architecture in Salt Lake City, trying some amazing seafood in San Francisco, or hiking in Scottish Highlands. I love trying things I've never tried before. I think every place in a world is unique in it's own way and is worth visiting. Apart from travelling, I like discussing various life issues, philosophies, ideas with other people. I love discussing science related to human behaviour and consciousness. Although recently I switched to cancer research.. As I said, always trying new things. Currently trying really hard to juggle gradschool and travel... I have to go somewhere whenever I get a free day, can't stay put in one place for a long time :)

PHILOSOPHY

-Try everything!
-Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear...
-I was lucky to be born in a developed country, and have access to education. I am privileged, so who am I to complain about anything?
-Be inspired is great, to inspire is amazing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Had some amazing surfing experiences in the US, and then hosted some really cool people in Edinburgh. While travelling in the US I have met many people who know what couchsurfing is all about. People who had so much couchsurfing experience, that one day I want to be one of those people. I want to promote a community, where people use couchsurfing not for free accommodation, but for having the best time with their hosts or their surfers. Currently I cannot host, but I'd love to meet fellow couchsurfers. I do not live in the city though, I live on Long Island, but sometimes I might have time to come to the city and maybe we could explore it together since I'm not a local myself :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There is no way I can describe this in a few words there. My experiences were simply amazing, I made life long friends and had most incredible experiences... I surfed myself in US mostly, and a few times actually ended up going back to the same hosts again. Although those times it was more like I was visiting friends. I guess the most interesting case is when my host and now a great friend in Vegas ended up hosting my mom too when she was in Vegas! I have couchsurfed with my mom a few times in California, which was a great experience.
