About Me
I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself here but I'll keep it short so it will be more fun to get to know each other if we cross ways :)
I'm currently in the second year of my PhD and work with deep-sea bottom-dwelling organisms and their feeding preferences and strategies. If you have any interest at all in my work I'm of course happy to talk about it as my work is also kinda my hobby. I love the sea and am trying to get test out as many water sports as possible (really want to learn surfing next). Other than that I'm not particularly enthusiastic about sports, I have to admit...But I do like to take long walks or go hiking.
I'm currently thinking about learning either Korean (simply out of interest) or Russian (out of interest and for my job). Happy for advise which one to tackle first ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I do enjoy being alone sometimes, I think it's essential to go out and meet people, have amazing conversations and learn about how other people see the world.
I created this account in 2013 but sadly never got around to be a host myself before 2019, either because my place was too tiny or it wasn't allowed. However, I do think it is a great opportunity to get to know people from all over the world and I certainly enjoy every new encounter.

Music, Movies, and Books
I do not have a favourite genre in any of those categories but I do enjoy some more than others.
Music: I'm more focussed on the lyrics so as long as these are not a) too repetitive or b) lacking in substance I will probably enjoy it. Genres I listen less to: Techno and Country.
Movies and Series: Pretty much anything but I do particularly enjoy historical movies, action and fantasy or psychological thrillers. I am also a big fan of animated movies and series and do love the "slice of life" genre.
Books: Same as movies pretty much. I do have a monthly comic order though so I have a bunch of comics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing experience for me was sitting in a two-man submersible 320 meters deep in the ocean. It feels like you're floating in space.
