Hello! I'm Stella.

After graduating school and attending university for a year, I decided to quit and pursue my travel dreams. I bought a one-way ticket to Guatemala and haven't looked back. That was two years ago and much has happened since then, including travels through South America and a stint in Bavaria. Now I'm living in Europe, studying business, learning French, and exploring as much as possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To enjoy the fun, generosity, and knowledge of other people in new, interesting places. I love learning and trying new things, experiencing other ways of life, and discovering things I would've never known without being there to encounter them. Couchsurfing is just an extension of this, getting to know other people who share a common interest.

Interests

I'm an avid reader! I love animals and grew up with 15 cats or so at any given time, plus dogs, goats, chickens, turkeys, geese, etc. and was raised as a pescatarian. I really enjoy going out at night and having drinks. And of course, I love backpacking - when I travel I most look forward to walking around without any particular destination in mind, enjoying the food and the nightlife, meeting locals, and relaxing at the sea (if there is one). I belong at the beach, but still love exploring the city!

My favorite shows/movies, I would say, are Game of Thrones, Girl, Interrupted, Into the Wild, Ever After, Interstellar, Edward Scissorhands, and Inglorious Bastards.

As far as books: The Handmaid's Tale, Eating Animals, A Clockwork Orange, Notes from Underground, anything F. Scott Fitzgerald, and usually anything David Sedaris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the jungle of eastern Guatemala, I once jumped 10 meters into a natural cave pool in complete darkness!
