About Me

ABOUT ME

I am quite a controversial interlocutor, changing topics is something that comes naturally in the flow of the conversation or I would get bored. I appreciate cultural diversity and am constantly trying to get in touch with people who come from a place I barely know of. Believe I possess a decent sense of humor and I value it highly as part of interpersonal communication. I dream when I'm not sleeping and I go to sleep because I don't have any more energy and not because I really want to sleep. I look somewhat Italian though I'm 100% (as far as I know) Bulgarian. Currently thinking about the next place I would like to live in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I prefer spending money on moments, not furniture.

Interests

I get an adrenaline rush of getting lost in unfamiliar locations and I love roof-top views and libraries. I like reading a couple of books at the same time and tend to finish neither. I like any movie and music genre that makes me pause it, think, and debate. I love moving, aka running, walking fast, tennis, swimming, skiing and climbing though I'm an amateur in the last one. I'm interested in foreign languages, currently French and either Swedish or Japanese, cooking healthy, tae-bo and yoga once in a while, human rights issues, contemporary art, and beauty in all of its forms.

Music, Movies, and Books

There is a series of steps in discovering music:
1. Digging out a tune from the music library of the radio I work in.
or
1. Typing a fragment of the lyrics to find the song I heard
or
1. Shazam
or
1. My friends' recommendations
or
1. Movie scores
=> Find a single song
2. Listen to other songs by the same artist
3. More artists in the same genre
4. Get enough and change abruptly the genre
5. A message by a friend with a SoundCloud/ YouTube link.
6. Change genre again.

Final result: numerous hours of diverse audio experience. Most recent show I've been to: Selah Sue. The shows I dream about: The XX and Olafur Arnalds.
The shows I regret I've missed when they've been in my proximity: Gorillaz, Bonobo, Erykah Badu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made you read my profile though I'm not hosting.

Teach, Learn, Share

According to Aristotle, to study is to express the best in us; he calls it the "divine element". Above, his definition of 'eudaimonia':

But the activity of understanding, it seems, is superior in excellence because it is the activity of study; aims at no end beyond itself; has its own proper pleasure, which increases the activity; and is self-sufficient, leisured and unwearied, as far [as these are possible] for a human being. And whatever else is ascribed to the blessedly happy person is evidently found in connection with this activity.
