About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy life to the fullest. Currently that includes working on effective altruism projects while traveling!

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going, altruistic Epicurean who knows my meaning of life - to enjoy it!

Moved to Uppsala to do Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology (genetics/bioinformatics of cardiovascular disease), in order to make improvements on the world.

My long term goal is to make the world a happier place any way I know how.

PHILOSOPHY
My meaning of life is to enjoy it, and I consider myself to be an epicurean stoic, though there are many good schools of thought. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicureanism
I could also describe myself as a secular Buddhist in much of my thinking (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_Buddhism).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host various events, e.g. potlucks. I also offer to host people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed several times on the east coast of USA, as well as made two cross country car/bus/train trips. One the summer of 2010 and one summer of 2011. I was active in the Raleigh-Durham group and went to many local events and potlucks. With no exception are the people who are active in couchsurfing the most amazing and pleasant people and I have always enjoyed staying with everyone!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving a death threatening tumor has probably had the biggest influence on my personal life. Reminder me that you shouldn't wait for the future to enjoy life. You are alive today, and that is the greatest thing in the rest of your life.

On a lighter note: my one year studying and traveling in USA, which was amazing! I have seen a lot of people, and loved Chapel Hill, UNC! Visited 31 states in Three coast to coast USA trips.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have many interest of which I would gladly share:

1) Health, diet, food, exercise - on a molecular biology viewpoint and on a human physiology level
2) My knowledge of Swedish and related things
3) Philosophy - I love to talk and learn about many topics!
