ABOUT ME
A long haired ukulele playing, no-smoking vegan academic. Taking some time out to travel and play music. Passionate about the environment, but with attitudes coloured by an engineering background.
In addition to playing ukulele I also dabble on Banjo, Guitar, and anything else I can get my hands on, but the ukulele is my voice.
PHILOSOPHY
First and foremost is to be open to other peoples ideas. Nearly everyone has something that I can learn. This also means that sometimes expect your ideas to be challenged. Not attacked, but if it is new or contrary to what I know, I will question them.
AVAILABILITY
I often go into the outdoors camping or walking. This usually means that I can't respond to messages for a while, and sometimes they get lost in my email backlog. If I fail to get back to you feel free to message again. The upside is I can often take people camping or walking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was introduced to couch surfing by a surfer I met at a festival. He slept the next few weeks on my couch.
I have since used Couch surfing while travelling, and can also host when at home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a few people stay on my couch or in my van.
Interests
Alternative energy, board games, music, ukulele, juggling, kayaking and anything else that catches my attention.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really haven't seen many movies recently, but ai have a huge collection of books, a large proportion of which are science fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met a man who was deaf from birth who played mandolin. He learned to tune and play based on the vibrations on his chest. We played music for hours. He was fantastic.
Teach, Learn, Share
Obviously ukulele, I have taught and run workshops with the ukulele before, and I love to share tricks. If you dare ask me about alternative energy, but sometimes it can be hard to shut me up after.
