Hi, my name is Steph and I'm a 26-year-old journalist from Brisbane. My husband Tyrone (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/tyrone-girle), also 26, is a teacher. We were recently married and our heart is set on travelling the world. We are currently based in London but we travel very frequently.

When we're not travelling we are probably doing TV marathons, seeing the latest movie, eating out or watching and playing sport.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have had great experiences with the couch surfing community so far, both hosting and surfing, so we just want this to continue!

Meeting new people really makes travel all the more worthwhile - travelling is about more than collecting photos and selfies at famous landmarks.

Interests

We try to make the most of every moment and we love adventures. Some things we have enjoyed on our travels have been jetboating in Queenstown, cave tubing in Waitomo, Disneyland and Disneysea in Tokyo, visiting villages in Fiji, trekking around Angkor Wat in Siem Reap and seeing the 2012 WWE Wrestlemania in Miami - among so many other things.

We love history, sport and generally just seeing sights and being in places that are to be appreciated.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a Harry Potter nerd from way back, and do love reading, although I don't give it as much time as I'd like.
Movies have mostly been replaced by TV series in our house - ones we love are Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, Stranger Things, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Peaky Blinders - the list goes on, but there is always a series we are working on.
We have a seriously eclectic music style - especially if you combine our tastes as a couple. You could hear anything from NWA to Elvis to Arctic Monkeys to ACDC in our house and everything in between.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungy jumped for charity - would I do it again? Probably not, but I can tick that off the bucket list!

We try to learn in every situation we face - if we happen to teach something in the mean time too, that's great.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share stories about our home country and culture in Australia, we're great conversationalists, and we're decent in the kitchen too (both cooking and cleaning!). We're clean and tidy people, and are happy to go along with any rules you might have too.
