About Me

Hello all!

I love traveling by bicycle and motorcycle - I spent almost two years traveling through Europe, South and Central Asia, AUS/NZ/States etc 2015-2016. Since then I've done quite a few mini-expeditions... the States, Japan, Mexico... :)

I am from Vancouver Island, BC and I work full time as a construction engineer in project management (fancy way of saying I track schedules and count pennies haha). I work in Northern BC right now - it's a lot warmer than you'd guess in the summer!! I can't host anyone right now because the place I stay at is not mine and shares an entrance with the owner, sorry! Plus why are you coming to central-northern BC anyway...? I guess there are moose here... if that's your thing.

I like my independence and like to avoid the logistics and planning that comes with a trip when you're going by train, bus or car etc. With a bike (engine or not) it is easy to just get going in the morning, decide at lunch time around where you're going to stop, and then at 5pm try and find a campsite. I like this because it's much more flexible and really puts the focus on getting there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm usually traveling solo, so having someone to talk to is always nice. I'm trying to travel as cheaply as possible, so this also helps with accommodation. I've got a tent and I'm cool with camping in your garden if that's more chill :) I have met some awesome people using this website who have guided me through my travels and are reason to have faith in humanity.

Not here to use Couchsurfing like a dating site! Pleeeease don't misinterpret niceness and gratitude as some kind of invitation :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled 8,015km across Europe on a 120lb bike, which included temperatures from -10C to 44C and 39 French/Swiss/Italian Alp & Dolomite passes. I camped the whole way (and it was awesome!).

Motorcycled Vietnam which was more terrifying than it was amazing.
Motorcycled across the States which was awesome.
Traveled the Stans - which are incedible :D
Motorcycled through Japan
