About Me

CURRENT MISSION -
Enjoy the fleeting Cleveland summer weather to the maximum.

ABOUT ME -
I'm usually lazy, but athletic. Open-minded, with a passion for learning. I can either go with the flow or be a decision maker. I'm overly laid back about important things, and overly anxious about the little chores. I'm admittedly impatient. As an engineer I'm thoroughly enjoying this stage of my 20's. Thankful daily for my health and happiness. Married to my best friend, Noah; Over the past 11 years of knowing each other he continues to make me a better person. I like to be busy, social, and am always trying new things; I am rarely bored. Sometimes I realize I have way too many hobbies and pursuits, but, it's not a bad problem to have. I think that I am sometimes quiet to those who first meet me. I consider myself a dependable, easy to get along with person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess my favorite part about hosting is making a new friend from another city or another country. I enjoy listening about other professions and unique/interesting hobbies. I always learn something new, sometimes it sticks with me for years to come.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:
Over the years I've hosted several times. Truthfully I have had some very very good experiences but also some 'Eh, just ok' experiences, and one somewhat bad experience. Keeps things interesting.

Interests

Too many interests to list. Tasting beer. Learning to ferment things like sourdough bread, sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, kefir (and lots of beer of course). Playing soccer year round. I love summer sports - with a deep new love of mountain biking. Watching the sunset over Lake Erie. I like painting and framing artwork. Going to the library, just to browse. Authentic Mexican tacos, thin-crust Sicilian style pizza. Cooking sans recipe. Making dinner for friends. Trying to play piano. Learning Spanish. Daydreaming about interior design. Shopping for jewelry on Etsy. 'Staycationing'. Traveling, of course. Much love for my home town, Pittsburgh, and my new town, Lakewood.

Things I don't enjoy: TV. Cigarette smoke. Less than 8 hours of sleep. Spending money. Winter.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really like movies, unless we're at the drive-in. I like books about science, with pictures, and nonfiction books that make me think about our world and my role in it. I like music that I can sing in the car. I enjoy Podcasts too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know Glacier National Park will hold a special place in my memory for a long time. Scrambling to the peak of Bishop's Cap was spectacular. Riding a motorcycle with my husband in the Dominican Republic was also quite the adventure.

Looking at this makes me realize, I need to do amazing things more often.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone you meet has something they can teach you. Great mantra to live by.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you like it spicy, we can treat you to some homemade pad thai, and always some homemade beer. I like it when others can share travel recommendations and favorite recipes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, United Kingdom
