About Me

I work as a psychologist at an amazing pre- and primary school, which has been an amazing experience. I love exchanging ideas and stories and am passionate about languages, writing, drawing and taking photographs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To exchange stories and share in adventures!

Interests

In broad strokes, I am very fond of reading/writing, photography, listening/playing/singing music, filmmaking.

I enjoy spending time with children (or the young at heart) and hearing people's stories. I love history and all that comes hand in hand with it: politics, philosophy, the arts and culture. However, it is the personal side of affairs, the twists and turns of a collection of lives with all their hopes and dreams that interests me.

Music, Movies, and Books

The combination of 60's/70's EUA (Simon & Garfunkel, Peter Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez...), British (Rolling Stones, Beatles, Donovan...), French music (Aznavour, Piaff, Bécaud, Dassin, Gainsbourg, Hardy...) + Bossa Nova (Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa...) was what I grew up listening to & what I continuously go back to, but I enjoy many more types of music, many in a class of their own (Tom Rosenthal, Souad Massi, Tallest Man on Earth, Salvador & Luísa Sobral, Silvia Perez Cruz). Fado (Amália Rodrigues, Carminho, Marisa) makes me homesick even if I am home. And who can turn down some jazz, blues and Billie? Classical music was the background of my childhood, and remains on a plane of its own.

Books (in no particular order): Turgenev, Dylan Thomas, Kundera, Woolf, Somerset Maugham, Orwell, Chekov, Burgess, Hesse, Dostoyevsky, Dickinson, Tolstoy, Harper Lee, Pessoa, Saramago, Austen, García Marquez, St. Vincent Millay, Whitman, Neruda, Hosseini, Rumi, Hafiz, etc. 'Children' writers have also impacted me in how simply they've conveyed what we spend our lives learning: Milne, Roald Dahl, , Saint-Exupéry, C. S. Lewis, Shel Silverstein, Beatrix Potter, and so on.

Films: Indie, biographic, thought-provoking (the list is long!)
