About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live an environmentally sustainable life, contribute positively to my community, and to meet exciting/inspiring people with whom I can share stories, knowledge and experiences.
ABOUT ME
I love swimming in the ocean, camping, living outdoors. I'm a practitioner of Chinese medicine. I love meeting new people and listening to their stories.
PHILOSOPHY
Just be yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe couchsurfing is such a wonderful way to travel & meet new people. Everyone has their own unique stories to tell & from my experience so far, couchsurfing members in general are a pretty special bunch of individuals, who collectively share this amazing worldwide network of generosity, sharing & caring. Why am I part of it? Because I believe if you are travelling, the best way to experience a local area is to stay with a local. A local, who is also a couchsurfer. I've travelled myself, I know what its like to be in a foreign place, and deeply appreciate somebody whom i've never met before to put their trust in me and welcome me into their home. Its about trust, friendship, and so much more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have CouchSurfed in Japan, Korea & Germany, and had a wonderful time with my hosts. In Japan, Takao warmly welcomed us with onsens, delicious food, a crazy night out, and the best local tour of all!
My friend Matt & I hosted from our apartment in Nanjing, and when I lived in Melbourne our couch was constantly on offer. Now, in the beautiful Port Macquarie, my couch is just sometimes available, to special people who write really lovely genuine requests that represent what couch surfing is all about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, China. Spectactular scenery.. a part of China with blue sky & fesh air, farmland & one of the deepest gorges in the world. WWOOFing in Japan was also pretty amazing, and many other hikes- including in new zealand & the Bibbulmun track in WA.
Had the opportunity to learn and now practice an extremely incredible & powerful art/medicine in Chinese medicine.
Teach, Learn, Share
What i want to learn about most, at the moment, is gardening, growing vegies and fruit, permaculture & organic principles. I have learnt a little of both Japanese & Chinese, and hope not to lose what i have learnt, so i am very keen to chat to Chinese and Japanese people & for some language and cultural exchange.
Also please teach me more about how to cook Japanese food.. I love it!
