About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I have a disease; I think it's called a travel bug. The cure? Keep traveling!
ABOUT ME
We are brand new to CouchSurfing!
I (Stephanie), and some former travel buddies talked about the possibility of trying CS and really feel like it would be the best way to see the cities we were going to. We knew we were travelers, but we didn't want to be tourists. The best way to see a city is to find a local who will show you around. I have experienced success in meeting random people to show me around, but the CS way seems like it would offer a more efficient (and safer?) way to do this.
Feel free to ask any questions of us, or to make suggestions for the improvement of our profile... like I said, total newcomers!
PHILOSOPHY
That's a big question, but I suppose I live life primarily to learn. There is so much to be seen and done, why not do my best to experience as much of it as possible! I also find it important to love people. To believe the best about someone is to set yourself up to (here it is again) learn from him or her. I'm a romantic in that I believe there is so much good in everyone, that it only need be nurtured to come alive. Beyond that, my feelings are low-key yet passionate and my thoughts range from deep to shallow, depending on my mood :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Never done this before, but once I have a place back in the states again, I will be all over hosting people! Can't wait to make the most of surfing and then give back by hosting :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A few good experiences whilst traveling this past fall. A great host in London, a host for my friends in Heidelberg, and a would-be host in Lyon, although we weren't able to make it :(.
Interests
I just graduated from Colorado State University with a double major in Communication Studies and German and am currently trying to figure out what to do with my life. I'm so looking forward to this little EuroTrip of ours so that I can meet people and find out what they do and hopefully figure out what my passion is and what I could spend the rest of my life doing. I have only 3 criteria for whatever it is that I do: First, to work with people who I like, second, to work in a cool plac), and last, to work for a company that is doing good things for the world. I want my work to mean something. Some laughs, music, and friends in the mix are also most certainly welcome! I love meeting people and bartend part-time in the town I live.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just about everything (except country... can't stand the stuff). I love me some good hip-hop, beat-driven rock, roll-the-windows-down pop, and anything with an acoustic guitar involved. I just love books I can learn from; just finished Eat Pray Love and basically changed my life. It's all about finding balance in looking out for number one and caring for those around you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing things I can remember doing involve me learning how to live in someone else's culture or in someone else's home. I seem to be most comfortable when I'm out of my comfort zone because that's when I become adaptable.
Teach, Learn, Share
Serial positivity. Optimistic to a fault. I am a random combination of realist, idealist, and romantic. No idea how that works together, but it's worked for me for 23 years now.
