We are a youngish couple : Nelly my girlfriend and me, Stephane. We are from France and live in Canada.
We met at Paris and lived there during a long time before moving to Montreal in 2013.

Nelly is a digital project manager but she studied during a long time Literature and History in the University. She is passoniated by the Slavic world and especially Russia where she lived during during her study. She is a real food lover! According her, a nice meal is always an opportunity to gather people and enjoy life. She likes to cook for others delicious meals from Provence in the south of France (her native area).

Stephane is baker since he moved to Montreal. In France, he studied French cuisine and he worked during a long time in an organic store. He is very interested by organic farming, and would like one day to have his own garden where he could grow his vegetables, maybe also his own wheat. he loves of course to cook and bake for the others. Otherwise, he plays guitar and likes to meet people with whom he can play and share his passion for the music. Actually, he can easily live without TV or cellphone but... he NEEDS music!!

Both of us, we love hiking, camping and in general to be in the nature. We can say that we are true animal lovers and travelling makes us more more concerned about our environnement and wildlife conservation. We try to do our best to get involved in various initiatives but it's a long-term project ;-)

CURRENT PROJECT
We travel the world.
On june 2016, we left everything in Montreal to head to Europe and begin our trip in Poland ...to Russia ...to Asia ...to Oceania... We never stop since then.

According us, CS is one of the best way to meet amazing people and share great experiences abroad.
Until now, we've only surfed (as we don't have a home) and we are still amazed by the generosity, the open-mindedness and the kindness of our hosts. We really hope one day to be able to host travellers .

Interessen

Travel: there are so many travellers and so many ways to travel. On our part, we reckon that time is a luxury nowadays ...that's why we decided to travel slowly. We don't like running neither checking boxes of an ideal bucket list. In this sense, we don't mind to "do" many country or to visit every single crucial adresses recommended in the Lonely Planet. We love taking sufficient time to do what really matters for us, enjoy ourselves, focus on an area to meet locals, share with them and when it's possible help communities on projects.

Food: we both agree that it's fun to cook, it's delicious, and it's one of the best means to (re)connect with people.

Cinema: The cinema is a real drug for us. Before travelling, we were used to go to cinema at least 3 times a week. Maybe because it's also an another way to travel ;-)

Wildlife: because we live in a beautiful world surrounded by fascinating living creatures.

Hiking and camping: because walking during hours et wake up the day after in the middle of nowhere with no one around is priceless.

MUSIC : in our couple, Stephane is the real music lover... and Nelly is always happy to discover new bands thanks to him. We listen a lot of Canadian bands... like Patrick Watson, Whitehorse, Owls, The Barr Brothers... or Irish singers like Lisa Hannigan, John smith, Glen Hansard, James Vincent McMorrow...
But we like also Louis Amstrong, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Moriarty, Pokey Lafarge, Radiohead, Muse, Björk...

MOVIES : Among our favorite directors : Coen Brothers, Tarantino, Sam Mendes, Wong Kar Wai, Alejandro González, Guillermo del Toro, Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, Steven Soderbergh, Jean-Marc Vallée, Sean Penn, F.rancis Ford Coppola, Claude Chabrol, Alfred Hitchcock...
Few of our favorite movies : Out of Africa, Indochine, Interstellar, Fight Club, The Darjeeling limited, Little Miss Sunshine, Wild... but we like also old french comedy with Louis de Funès or Pierre Richard... and many many others.
Beautiful documentaries : Blackfish, Sled dogs, the Lords of the sea,

BOOKS : Nelly is able to read almost everything regarding her current mood. Among her favorites : Wild (Cheryl Strayed), every Bill Bryson's books, Kent Follett books, Dostoievski's novels, Master and Margarita (M. Boulgakov)... Stephane read mostly travel diaries (e.g. Nicolas Vanier and Sylvain Tesson's books) and (of course) a load of cook books... He is a baker so it makes sense, doesn't it ?
