Although I work in communications and thoroughly enjoy social scenes traveling alone is one my favorite things to do. I love people and learning about them but feel like even the most amazing souls are able to ruin a trip with expectations instead of rolling with the tide. I’m an easy going gal. All I need is a cup of coffee or cocktail a cool city to explore and I’ve accomplished my goal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was supposed to be traveling w my parents and stay at their timeshare in Manhattan but as proof of why I like to travel alone- last minute my dad sends me the following text:
Hi: this is the plan for the New York trip, we arriving on Friday the 19 and will stay in NY Saturday and Sunday, Monday morning we will go to Washington DC driving, we will find a Hotel there for Monday night, Tuesday stay in DC until 3/4 in the afternoon then we start driving back we will find a hotel for Tuesday night, Wednesday morning start driving to Niagara Falls, and stay there that night, on Thursday we start our way back to New York find a Hotel close to Kennedy Airport, and come back home on Friday, we need to be at the Airport by noon

They cancelled the timeshare and expected me to go on their tour of the NE. Um no. I came to see NYC nothing more, nothing less.
