About Me

I am an American who lives in London getting my Masters Degree in Creative Writing. I love traveling and have been exploring Europe since moving to London a year and a half ago.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet new people in the cities I explore. I love getting the sort of experience that is hand-stitched by the locals. Even though I like seeing touristy stuff, I grow tired of the tourist route pretty quickly and love to get tips from people who live in and love the city that I am visiting. My friend is visiting me from Los Angeles and he and I are looking to make some new friends on our mini European tour during the holidays.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly Indie Rock Music: Modest Mouse, Portugal the Man, Arctic Monkeys, The Hives, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Born Ruffians, Interpol, Sleigh Bells, The Libertines, etc.

Movies: Pretty much anything by the Coen Brothers or Wes Anderson, The Fall, Vertigo, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pan's Labyrinth...

Books: Hard to boil this down, but I like weird, surrealist stuff. Authors I like include Cesar Aira, Italo Calvino, Ferdinand Pessoa, Franz Kafka, Don Dellilo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tried my hand a trapeze once. It was terrifying and I was terrible at it, but the experience was totally worth it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn as much as I can about the different cities and cultures I am visiting. I'm trying to avoid the super toursity type of trip, so if hosts could share tips for local places to visit, that would be cool.

I'm not sure what I can teach. I can tell you a lot about writing and literary theory since that is what I study, but incase you don't want to learn that, I can teach you how to make friendship bracelets out of colorful string.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
