About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel the world! More specifically - I want to explore various cultures and religions!

ABOUT ME

I study. A lot. Sometimes I just want to get out of town for a while..so I travel to the larger cities in the area to go to major concerts and events like Mardi Gras and what not. I love partying, but I don't drink a lot (it's too expensive). However, I do love a good beer.

I am a night-owl and if the mood is right, a morning person as well. I cook awesome food, and am recently vegan (not that I don't like - or cook - meat, but I've found that we tend to eat outrageous amounts of animal products that are unnecessary for our diets and I'd like to see how well I do taking those things out - so far so good /rant). I try to eat mainly raw - which makes my life easier.

I like my coffee the way I like my metal..black.

Juuust kidding. I like metal..but mostly not black :) Music is a big reason I travel. I like metal & rock concerts the best because I tend to have more fun. I've always just stood around twiddling my thumbs at country/indi/slowmusicthatsoundspretty concerts - even though I do love the music. There's just something about a pit that's super awesome.

I'm a very clean person when traveling - I travel super light. The less I bring the less likely I'll loose something. I don't smoke cigarettes - they smell..but a good cigar is fair game. I usually travel with a friend or two.

I feel like I'm a pretty awesome person, but sometimes I can be socially awkward..it runs in the family. I hope that I can meet lots of wonderful people around the universe with couchsurfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a student who has recently (in the past year or so) discovered a love for traveling! I traveled to India my junior year of undergrad and it was a life-changing experience!

Right now I only travel to see concerts, art installations, and visit possible grad schools...so my stays are 1-3 nights max. As written previously, I usually travel with a group of 2-3 people total. We usually have weird hours (because of the concert times) but are very respectful when it comes to noise level. If I want to party I'll go out (unless otherwise stated/invited by the host). I love to visit the cities I stay in because hey, lets face it, Shreveport has some culture, but not enough to sustain my interests.

I hope to eventually become a host, but right now I live with folks who do NOT like guests aka my parents.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed with friends and friends of friends, but never through couchsurfing.org. One involved an Avenged Sevenfold concert in Laffy, the other was a psychedelic art installation in San Antonio.

Interests

I love cooking and throwing parties (at venues that are not my house)- mostly the pretend-you're-fancy kind, but sometimes the drunk and shameless kinds.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a variety of music, but right now I'm on a heavy metal kick. My music taste really fluctuates throughout the year: sometimes I'm feeling some Norma Jean whereas other times I'm feeling some Jewel/ Lana del Ray.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my all-time favorite show, followed by Spongebob and Charmed.

Books are awesome, books series are even better - Game of Thrones..am I right? I haven't seen the show, but daang those books are good.
