About Me

Hi there, I'm Steph, a full-time van-dweller. That means I live in my van and in a strange twist, I was mainly in London but right now I am around Devon and Cornwall. It was not easy trying to stealth-camp in London so I often drive around trying to find free spaces in quiet (but not creepy) locations until I had the crazy idea to start looking on here. On my days off I drive to the forest, or the fields or, my favourite, to the beach! You'd be welcome to join me anytime
I can't do office jobs, but I have had my fair share of crazy jobs, something I'd love to write more about, but is better performed! I also run a blog and its accompanying Instagram page and have just started making money from sharing my stories so if anyone would like help with blogging or social media, I'd be happy to help. Check it out fudgelling.com and the_fudgelling on insta

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It can be lonely in the van so it'd be great to find some similar-minded people or anybody that isn't scared off my minimalist van-living.

Music, Movies, and Books

I own a kindle but read paper books too. Just finished Nelson Mandelas Long Walk to Freedom and happy to take recommendations on what to read next. My favourites include the travel classics- Tracks by Robyn Davidson and Into the Wild, the story of Alexander Supertramp/Christopher McClandless by Jon Krakauer.

My music taste is uninspired, and anything that I can dance to, or cry to, or just chill to normally makes it onto some sort of playlist. I am so unknowledgable about music it's embarrassing but I do love to listen to live music and any pub offering that gets a thumbs up.

Oh! and the movies! Well, Into the Wild (except the book is better). My all-time favourite is Finding Nemo which I cringey, but my second fave is Bridge to Terrabithia would is equally as cringeworthy. I did briefly study film so love watching film although get easily scared- I have Netflix and Amazon Prime, just ask and I will share!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bought a huge ex-lifeboat whilst at uni. The money was supposed to cover living costs for the year during my second yearat the University of Exeter but when boat-life calls, you've just got to do it! Living in a boat was fun, but this boat was so difficult; sort-of-sinking, 50 years old, and it came with its following of 200+ elderly men who were fascinated with RNLI boats.
