Overview
About Me
I'm a proud First Nation person born and raised in Seattle, WA. I’m now living the dream in my traditional territory in part of what is known as the Fraser River Valley. I have a BA in American Indian Studies and a minor in Disability Studies. I’m not hosting at this time but am totally down for meetups and adventures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and make new friends! I still keep in touch with almost everyone I've met through couchsurfing.
I value local perspectives, cultural exchange and community building over tours and resorts. I want to see the world, but I want to know what it ~genuinely~ means to the many people who live in it. It’s important for me when traveling to know and respect the people who belong to the land I’m on.
Interests
Backpacking, bouldering, hiking, foraging, bicycling, snowboarding, snowshoeing, weaving, reading, singing, sewing, knitting, drawing.
I like art, all-ages (accessible) music, community building, philosophy, psychology/mental wellness, social sciences, mycology and plant medicine.
I like to try new things, especially food! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rappelled down a cave filled with "glow worms" in New Zealand (later I discovered the glow is actually worm poop in progress - but I'm still enchanted)
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a habit of picking up lots of hobbies and being “ok” at most of them. Just ask though! I love to share and help out with projects! I’m always (re)Learning Spanish (quieres hablar conmigo? Necesito practicar mas!) and my indigenous language of Halq’emeylem. I try to learn some of the local language in any place I visit.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cultural exchange, good conversation, help around the house, friendship, meal sharing, I can make you some bannock/fry bread. :) I know quite a bit about plants, especially the ones you can eat.
