Hi! I'm Stephanie and I'm an island girl. I grew up in this small island in the Philippines called Bohol and it is known for the Chocolate Hills (they can't be eaten though), tarsiers (one of the smallest primates in the world), rich marine biodiversity and white sand beaches. It is truly paradise right where I grew up but unfortunately, I had to move to the big city in Manila to study and work.

I have worked extensively with scientists and have organized outreach for poor kids in some islands in the Philippines. I also went into journalism and photography. Photography is my hobby.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is my escape from the big city and I want to explore new cultures and places. I'm on couchsurfing because I want to meet new people and experience first-hand unique experiences and hopefully, I can share mine, too!

Interests

I freedive but only to 10 meters. I love the outdoors so I'm very outdoorsy but also easily get tired.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is to freedive with the endangered dugong or they call it sea cows or mermaids in the old days!

Another one was going to a remote island in Indonesia to experience the solar eclipse!
