About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Conquer Vet School, maintain some semblance of a life while studying, and experience as much of this planet as I can while I am here

ABOUT ME

I'm a veterinary student who has celebrated the anniversary of the 29th birthday a few times. I'm originally from NY. I'm an outgoing person, very much an extrovert and have been best described by the word ebullient. I'm more of a morning person than a night owl, although I do enjoy a good night on the town every now and again. I think I have a good sense of humor; I crack myself up :)

PHILOSOPHY

I follow my heart and I dont settle for less than what makes me happy. For me happiness is not a dollar sign. I believe I have been given talents and interests "for a reason" and its my obligation to follow my passion- in order to help others. Honesty is the best policy ALWAYS. I like to challenge myself. I bring gratitude into everything I do. And the gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I took a surf trip to Rincon Puerto Rico. Wasn't really a couch as i slept on a comforter laid out on the floor. And I was more than happy for a place to stay with all the good waves we had during the day.

Interests

I love to run and cycle. I must admit that I am a total geek - in the sense of biology, microbes and medicine and non-fiction books. I love to read and have a wide variety of interests. My favorite book is Cutting for Stone. I also love to travel to new places and experience new cultures. Any activities concerning water - swimming, scuba diving, kayaking or just lounging on a beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet.
Cutting for Stone
The Spirit Catches you and you fall down
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
--> Those are my favorite books. As for movies, I like action adventure but cant' say I have a favorite. I listen to all types of music, not too much into Country but it may grow on me now that I live in the South.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Galapagos Islands - twice. Swam with Sea lions. Trip to Belize - 3 weeks of snorkeling and a few trips to the Mayan Ruins.
Ecuador, hiked the worlds highest snow covered active volcano. Ordered a cup of brewed coffee (as opposed to instant) with 1 semester of spanish under my belt.
Lived in Grenada for a year

Teach, Learn, Share

My degrees are in biological science. I share knowledge about bacteria, genetics and molecular techniques. I can teach you how to swim or give you pointers on triathlon training.
There are lots of things I want to learn how to do, but nothing is coming to mind right now.
